That's because the per-carat weight of lab-grown diamonds stays flat, whereas the per-carat rate increases with an increase in carat weight for natural stone. After all, its pricing is governed by the availability of bigger diamond sizes. For example, the availability of 1CT natural stone is a lot less than that of accent diamonds.
